About

Teen Challenge of the Upper Cumberland

Teen Challenge of the Upper Cumberland offers a residential recovery program for adult women who want freedom from addiction. Residents actively participate in Bible studies and receive Christian guidance while living in a structured and supportive environment. While residents are in the crisis portion of our program they receive assistance with legal issues, as well as placement into a Christian long-term Teen Challenge discipleship program. Our facility houses up to ten women at a time.

Why A Crisis Center?

Many long-term Teen Challenge centers have waiting lists and it is often difficult for addicts to take the steps needed to be admitted. A crisis center helps the addict adjust to a structured, family-type environment before transitioning into long-term treatment. Since opening in 2009, we have found that women who have the benefit of staying at our crisis center are better adjusted than their peers who may enter long-term treatment directly from jail or off the street.

Teen Challenge International

Teen Challenge was started in 1958 by Rev. David Wilkerson, and today, there are over 1,000 Teen Challenge centers in the world. It is the largest, most successful addiction recovery program of its kind. The centers offer 12-18 month residential programs that are designed to help men, women, and adolescents learn how to live drug-free lives by offering a balance of structured living, Bible classes, work assignments, and recreation.

Other Services

While we currently only offer residential treatment for adult women, Teen Challenge of the Upper Cumberland also offers referral and placement services for men, adolescents, and families. We assist them with navigating legal issues and completing the requirements needed for placement into a long-term Teen Challenge center. We offer non-residential weekly addiction recovery classes for the local community. Stay Sharp is our drug abuse prevention program that we present to area schools and youth organizations. Contact us at 888-688-0470 for more information about these services.
