I struggled with anxiety, depression, and a severe drug addiction to meth and suboxone. Being under the influence led me to three failed attempts at a career as a licensed cosmetologist. I took a look at my life and realized I was desperate for someone or something to save me, and I decided to come to Adult and Teen Challenge of the Upper Cumberland.
The Lord established the steps to get me here, and I didn’t even realize He was the one saving me. Since being here, God has healed me of a mental disorder and addiction, and He is equipping me everyday to defeat anxiety and depression. Even when I ran from Him, I still recognized His still small voice. I know I am chosen and that He will never leave me or forsake me. I have a new confidence that only comes from Jesus Christ.
I would like to restart my career in the future, further my education and go to Bible College. I know I am also called to preach the gospel and tell people about the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. My favorite verse is Philippians 4:6-7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus”.
