About Adult and Teen Challenge

Adult and Teen Challenge of the Upper Cumberland

Teen_Challenge_View from PorchAdult & Teen Challenge of the Upper Cumberland is dedicated to giving hope in Jesus Christ to those struggling with addiction, and teaching them to be productive disciples for the kingdom of God.

Adult and Teen Challenge of the Upper Cumberland offers a residential recovery program for adult women who want freedom from addiction. Residents actively participate in Bible studies and receive Christian guidance while living in a structured and supportive environment. Adult and Teen Challenge of the Upper Cumberland works together with the legal and judicial system on referrals to the program.  The facility is located in Livingston, TN.

Our core values are:
Compassion – Offering Hope to the Hopeless (Psalm 10:17)
Discipleship – Making productive disciples for the Kingdom of God (John 8:31-32)
Vision – Casting vision and helping others receive their vision from God (Proverbs 29:18)

One of our goals is to serve with the local churches, courts, law enforcement and other organizations and ministries.  We assist other faith-based non-profit organizations ministering to hurting people. This project is funded under a Grant Contract with the State of Tennessee, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.

Adult and Teen Challenge began in 1958 by Rev. David Wilkerson, and today, there are over 1,000 Adult and Teen Challenge centers in the world. It is the largest, most successful addiction recovery program of its kind. The centers offer 12-18 month residential programs that are designed to help men, women, and adolescents learn how to live drug-free lives by offering a balance of structured living, Biblical classes, work assignments, and recreation.

Other Services

While we currently offer residential treatment only for adult women, Adult and Teen Challenge of the Upper Cumberland also offers referral and placement services for men, adolescents, and families.  We assist them with completing the requirements needed for placement into a long-term Adult and Teen Challenge center.  We also offer Hope for Life, non-residential weekly addiction recovery classes for the local community.  Stay Sharp is our drug abuse prevention program that we present to area schools and youth organizations.
