About Teen Challenge USA
Teen Challenge is one of the oldest, largest, and most successful programs of its kind in the world. Established in 1958 by David Wilkerson, Teen Challenge has grown to more than 200 centers in the United States. Many centers offer a 12 – 15 month residential program for adolescents and adults; designed to help men and women learn how to live drug-free lives. During their stay, residents do not hold down outside jobs; all of their attention is focused on the program. Residents are challenged to embrace the Christian faith to see that when they do, their lives are transformed and they find true meaning and purpose.

About Teen Challenge of the Upper Cumberland
The purpose of Teen Challenge of the Upper Cumberland(TCUC) is to provide hope and a future to women dealing with life controlling issues, such as drug and alcohol addictions. Women seeking shelter at TCUC will be given the opportunity to begin a new life through faith in Jesus Christ. They will be guided toward a personal journey of transformation from the things of this world to a life lived for God. They will be encouraged to embrace the Christian faith to find true, lasting meaning and purpose in their lives. To foster this transformation, TCUC provides a safe, loving environment where these women will have the immediate assistance they need to transition into a long-term drug rehabilitation program in one of many Teen Challenge facilities across the country.
Defining moments in a person's life are often moments of crisis. The word "crisis" in the Chinese language is represented by two distinctly unique characters. The first character means "danger". For many people, it takes a moment of true desperation and helplessness to provoke the realization for the need for change. The second character means "opportunity". To those in their moment of "danger" TCUC will provide the message and the means, the "opportunity", for a new day and a fresh start through the love of Jesus Christ.
